Volunteering is at the heart of Let's Grow Preston as it is a community organisation for which many of the activities and groups are run by volunteers.
Let's Grow Preston can offer volunteering roles a number of ways and can involve as little or as much time as you like.
Let's Grow Preston has a large membership of Community Environmental Groups all around Preston. All of which welcome volunteer help. If you would like to know what groups are near you either see our members page or complete our registration form and select 'something local'
Experience not necessary (training available)
This involves basic gardening activities such as planting, weeding, sowing, food growing, pruning and grass cutting etc.
Let's Grow Preston can offer gardening volunteering roles at it's Community Hub in Ashton Walled Garden on Ashton Park as well as other Let's Grow Preston sites around the city such as Andy's Bee Meadow. We also have a large number of community groups registered with us so we will be able to find you volunteer opportunities near where you live.
Experience not always necessary but sometimes can be an advantage
If you want to volunteer but don't wish to do gardening Let's Grow Preston can offer a number volunteering roles. We are always on the look out for people who can help with the running of Let's Grow Preston. These can involve
Being a committee member
You could help drive Let's Grow Preston forward, get directly involved deciding how Let's Grow Preston grow and develops
Attending or organising fundraising events. Let's Grow Preston will always need to raise funds in order for to keep going and will also welcome help at events and activities to help raise funds. Also, are you a skilled fundraiser and would like help us by organising and running effective and imaginative fundraising activities.
Do you have skills in social media; blogging, facebook, instagram, youtube etc? Or maybe you are good at journalism, photography or design? Would you like to use these skills to help promote Let's Grow Preston, tell people what we are all about and get more people involved? Please do let us know
Experience necessary (training available)
Let's Grow Preston always needs volunteers who can run volunteer gardening sessions. A wide knowledge of horticulture is not necessary but the confidence to lead a group would be great. Training to do this is available and all facilitator volunteers are supported by Let's Grow Preston and will not be expected to organise activities on their own.

Abundance Preston is about harvesting the fruit from urban fruit trees around Preston and distributing them around our communities. Let's Grow Preston welcomes volunteers who are willing to help harvest and distribute this fruit. We also welcome volunteers who are willing to facilitate harvesting session at various locations around Preston.
