WHAT WE DO
We promote physical and mental wellbeing through volunteering in horticulture. Our sites follow the principles of social and therapeutic horticulture. The by-products of these activities (seedlings and plants grown by beneficiaries and volunteers) are used in community projects and are sold to generate an income for the charity. This income currently sustains the purchase of seeds and growing materials, but does not yet cover the costs of the staff.
We also share resources (plants, seeds, seedlings, policies, risk assessments, and donated items such as pots and tools) with:
-
Other community gardens
-
Friends of parks and open spaces
-
Schools
-
Community organisations across the PR postcode
